*On 16 December 2019, the Official Receiver issued a formal notice to creditors of the Thomas Cook Group companies in Liquidation, a report to Thomas Cook creditors and contributories and an information sheet to accompany the report. These documents are available for viewing on the Liquidator’s report and notices page.
On 23 September 2019, the High Court appointed the Official Receiver as liquidator over a number of entities in the Thomas Cook group on the petition of the companies’ directors. Simultaneously, the Court also appointed Simon Appell, Alastair Beveridge, Daniel Imison, and Ben Browne as Special Managers to support the liquidator.
The Special Managers were appointed by the High Court to help manage the affairs, business and property of the companies, in accordance with the powers and duties contained in the order appointing them. The Special Managers act as agents of the companies, without personal liability.
All of the Special Managers are licensed in the United Kingdom to act as insolvency practitioners by the Insolvency Practitioners Association. For details of all relevant statutory information, including a full listing of companies subject to liquidation, please click here.
Restructuring professionals from KPMG have also been appointed by the Court as Special Managers of Thomas Cook Retail Limited, Travel and Financial Services Limited, TCCT Retail Limited, Retail Travel Limited, Thomas Cook Aircraft Engineering Limited, The Freedom Travel Group Limited and Future Travel Limited. KPMG’s creditor portal can be found here: https://www.insolvency-kpmg.co.uk/case+KPMG+TJ92262037.html.
A dedicated website has been set up by the CAA for previously affected customers, this can be accessed at the CAA at Thomascook.caa.co.uk.
The government have setup a designated web page to assist with stakeholder queries, this can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/thomas-cook-information-for-customers-employees-creditors-and-shareholders.
If you wish to submit an unsecured claim, please download and complete a statement of claim form below. This should be returned to AlixPartners, Ship Canal House, 8th Floor, 98 King Street, Manchester, M2 4WU.
Given the size and complexity of the group affairs, it is unlikely that a dividend will be paid in the next twelve months (this is reported at September 2020). Please also note that if there are any funds available to distribute to unsecured creditors you will not be paid in full and any distribution will be made on a pence in the pound basis.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as the Liquidator and Special Managers continue to assist the various affected stakeholders.
